2 cups flour, sifted
1½ teaspoons salt
¾ cup shortening, Crisco
¼ cup milk, cold
2 teaspoons sugar
1 egg yolk |
Sift together flour, sugar, and salt.

Blend the shortening and the flour mixture with a pastry blender.

Blend together the egg yolk and milk.

Using a fork, beat the egg
yolk and milk; add mixture to flour mixture.

Mix just to handling
stage.

Divide and place between two sheets of floured waxed paper
and roll.
