Fried Green Tomatoes

A great treat from the deep south in America.

 

4 tomato, green
½ cup cracker crumbs, finely ground
1 teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
¼ cup olive oil

Slice tomatoes to a thickness of ¾-inch.

  1. Combine cracker crumbs, salt, and pepper-mix well. 

  2. Add tomato slices and coat evenly. 

  3. Heat oil to 375º in a large skillet. 

  4. Add tomatoes and cook until golden on both sides. 

  • Drain on a cooling rack and blot with paper towels. 

Serve hot or warm.
